Urban Resilience

UNDP promotes climate resilient infrastructure by making energy more environmentally sustainable, affordable and accessible, by promoting climate-smart infrastructure, by data down-scaling and urban risks and vulnerability assessments.

Making the supply and use of energy more environmentally sustainable, affordable and accessible and promoting low emission and climate resilient urban transport infrastructure.

Small Rural Infrastructure

Increasing climatic variability and unpredictability, particularly in relation to rainfall and extreme weather events, presents a very significant additional risk to the lives and livelihoods of rural people, particularly those living in the more remote interior of the country as well as in some highly exposed coastal areas. UNDP helps countries adopt policies and implement programmes to build more resilient rural infrastructure to protect the lives and livelihoods of people who depend upon small-scale rural infrascture, such as roads, draining, irrigation, and electricity and water conduits.
