Online Compendium: formulating, implementing and financing a successful NAP process
The NAP-GSP substantially contributed to the growing momentum of climate change adaptation actions providing the opportunity for non-LDCs representatives to participate at key international events. It further supported countries to increase their capacity for accessing and mobilizing adaptation finance – both domestically and internationally. This substantially strengthened their adaptation planning capacities for increased resilience to climate change. This publication consolidates and presents the knowledge that the NAP-GSP accumulated over the past years. The compendium is partitioned into the two broad phases of the NAP cycle: preparation and formulation and implementation and monitoring. These phases are complemented by a chapter covering the financial requirements, sources, and utilization for a continuously effective and successful NAP process. Each chapter is informed by case studies, examples, links to external sources, and interactive reflection points.
