NAP Expo 2013: Launch of the NAP process for LDCs

9 June 2013: The NAP Expo on 9 June 2013, Bonn, Germany launched the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process. It provided an important opportunity for North / South dialogue on NAPS, as well as South / South exchange of learning and viewpoints.

The event was a key chance to promote a common understanding of the NAP process through a detailed review of the NAP guidelines. Amongst the audience were representatives from LDCs and other Parties, the GEF and its agencies, adaptation practitioners, organizations, development agencies, regional centres and networks, as well as individual experts.
 
LDC representatives shared their plans for NAP formulation, exchanged experiences and discussed best practices on prioritizing and implementing climate change adaptation plans.

The NAP Expo was convened by the LDC Expert Group (LEG). Representatives from LDCs, the Global Environment Facility (the GEF) and its agencies, adaptation practitioners, development agencies, regional centres and networks amongst other organizations took part in the NAP Expo.
