UNDP-GEF is committed to integrating biodiversity objectives into multiple sectors across production landscapes including key commodity sectors, such as fisheries, agriculture and plantation forestry, promoting more sustainable production practices. UNDP-GEF works to change policies and guidelines in extractive industries, such as metal, oil and gas mining in order to minimize negative impacts on biodiversity in production landscapes. UNDP-GEF places special emphasis on reducing land degradation and supporting sustainable land management (SLM), so as to reduce pressures on ecosystem integrity and functioning from competing land uses across production landscapes.
